The Cabin (Olympic Peninsula)

After a few days of "city life" in Seattle, we took it down a notch by renting a cabin on Lake Sutherland on the Olympic Peninsula.

The water is COLD!

Well, even in the middle of nowhere, sometimes you just have to take a call from your best friend Ayden.

Boeing Factory (Everett, WA)

Our temporary home in Seattle. We were just a short walk north to Green Lake. Also, just at the bottom of our hill was a donut shop!

The main factory building holds multiple construction "lines" for various aircraft. It is the LARGEST building in the world by volume. It has to be massive to assemble many 747's, 777's, 737's and the new 787.

Seattle (Part 3)

While watching the gorillas, we and others made the comment on how gorillas were so much like humans. It was a short time later that one of the gorillas meandered over to a pile of poo, grabbed a chunk of poo and began eating it. Everybody in unison screamed out "Ewwwwww!!!".

I definitely feel right at home here.

Seattle (Part 2)

The Space Needle was built for the World's Fair in 1962. My dad went to the top in 1982 and now me in 2014.

It is 605 feet tall, but only the 6th tallest structure in Seattle.

The Chittenden Locks connect the salt water of the Puget Sound and the fresh water of Lake Union and Lake Washington.

Special tubes and channels (the "ladder") were constructed into the lock to allow spawning Salmon to pass from the Pacific Ocean to fresh water rivers inland.

We took an underground (or sewer) tour. After a great fire and years of flooding the city streets were raised to roughly the second floor of most buildings, leaving the original store fronts hidden for decades.
