The Redwood Forest

The "Avenue of the Giants" is a 33 mile scenic highway through the Redwood Forest.

Redwood trees have a diameter of 8 to 20 feet,

and they can grow over 300 feet tall.

They can live to almost 2,000 years old!!

The bark of a redwood contains a resin which makes them resistant to forest fires. The bark is also

extremely thick, which makes them insect resistant as well.
